“I just came back from Argentina, where I spent about six months.” It is always summer time for Tamara, but it is hard to leave a family in Argentina for something like six months! The streets of Paris at the end of March are quite cold and windy, but Tamara is smiling. The Argentine skater is not here to train, even if she challenges Greg, Vincent and Rob for the fun under the Bir Hackeim Bridge, close to the Eiffel Tower. But she gives time and talent to her other “family”, the Rollerblade one! “Then I will go back to Tuggen, Switzerland, where I will prepare for the coming marathons…”

“I will skate the entire season 2010 with Rollerblade. I hope to compete some marathons of the World Inline Cup, but also the Swiss and the French Inline Cups.” Everybody knows how serious Tamara is. She trains 11 times per week, different kinds of sports: speed skating a lot, and most particularly sprints, but also cycling and plyometrics. “I am not training with a club, but most of the time with a group of skaters. It increases motivation. We are based in Switzerland for the season, but I have the chance to go back in Argentina when it is winter in Europe. My season never stops!”

Tamara is a competitor. She has won many marathons in the past, all over Europe. She eventually captured the title of the French Inline Cup in 2009 and finished several times in the Top 10 of the World Inline Cup. Such results do not come easily. “Before the start of a race, I am very concentrated, focused on my goals. It depends on the importance of the race, but it is quite often so…” A competitor must be very strict about training sessions, the way of living and the periods of rest. But when the results come, it is always a great moment of joy.

Where does this force come from? “My sister inspired me, because she first chose this sport when we were young. Then my parents supported us, and still.” The will is still very strong, and when the family is far away, Tamara can lean on her training group in Switzerland. At least, there is always someone from the Rollerblade family close, such as Sämi Raimann for example, who supported the Rollerblade racing team from the start in 1998. This is the way you capture podiums: very special athletes and an extraordinary crew around!
